You can try updating Firefox when another version comes out, downloading the 32-bit version of Firefox or just use the other browsers you have at the moment.
Make sure that your anti-virus software isn't blocking the uploading of the files.
Is the upload done via a standard Browse button like used on this forum to add attachments or is there a specific plugin used?
Can you attach a file like a screenshot on this forum?
As you can see uploads to forums etc .. no problem. Most of the problems I encounter occur when uploading files to wordpress .. most often encountered when uploading zipped plugin files and using the standard up-loader for pictures. After browsing to the file on my computer... it just stalls.. although today I did get one to work , then the next zip failed ... switched to Chrome and uploaded ... no problem.
I have an number hosts.. some free ( like http://officialhowtobreak80golftraining.site88.net) others on D9 (neilsonsweb.com) and BlueHost (neilsonsdojo.com) (neilsonsdojo.com/golftips) that are paid hosting. In all instances I have only noticed it when uploading plugin zips and using the multifile up-loader in wordpress. When using the browser up-loader for pictures on wordpress in firefox -no problem. It is not being blocked by my AVG as Opera and Chrome have no such issues with Wordpress 3.4.1 So my conclusion is that the current version of Wordpress (3.4.1) has some issue with firefox and while inconvenient not earth shattering .. just wondering what it might be. Cheers
The problem is with Firefox version 14. Can not upload videos or simple graphics to web forum or social network sites. I hate using IE, but I did use it to test the social media sites and bingo no problems uploading. Hate chrome even worse. So I will be stuck using IE for uploading media until FF gets its act together. Come on Modzilla engineers. Fix the problem!!
Hi pablo222
Are there any plugins like Flash or Java or Silverlight used to upload that content or is it done via the regular Browse button like used on this forum?
Did you make sure that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) isn't blocking the files?
Cor-el,
I tried the Java and Flash thing and it did not matter. Do not use Silverlight anymore so I cannot say 100% it will not work.
From what I can tell, is that there is a bug in FF version 14.1 the content reader/ sender. I noticed that several website launched a popup that FF blocked. But unblocking did not solve the problem. My advise is what I am doing right now. use a second browser solely for uploading and FF for downloading. FF is safer than the others right now. But that can change tomorrow. FF engineers need to fix this or Google with take advantage. And FF will die a second death. First one was with Navigator 4. It failed like FF14 did in the beginning and then nearly bankrupted the company before they got it right because MS was not upgrading IE.
