How do I downgrade?
Heuristics will allow addons to keep working after upgrading they said. Firefox won't break your addons they said.
19->20 Firefox broke the addon (though installing the identical version again got it working again) 20->21 Firefox broke the addon again.

While they're trying to get the addon working, and for some a beta version works, for those of us who need these addons it means we need to downgrade Firefox. What's the best way to go about it? (PS: I don't care about security or what new features are in FF21 - I'd rather have working addons)

To downgrade you have to uninstall your current firefox version, and then install the new version.
Here you can find EVERY release since Firefox 1.5:

It's supposed that before updating firefox asks you because your update might break compatibility with some of your addons. If your addon it's not show there, it might be a problem with the addon design, not with firefox.
Anyway a shorter answer, would be to disable automatic updates (Tools > Option > Advanced > Updates).
Have you seen the Version 2.3.2 of Snap Links Plus extension released May 26, 2013 ? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/SnapLinksPlus/versions/
Yes, it doesn't work.
The 2.3.2 is set at maxVersion 21.* even as if the author updated it for Firefox 21.0
Why is it such a hard question to answer? How do I downgrade firefox to a previous version? ie: where can I download v20, what files need to be transferred, are there any profile changes that may cause issues, etc?

Actually since Firefox 0.8. The even earlier release versions are not listed there because it was Firebird before for 0.6.x - 0.7 and Phoenix for 0.1 to 0.5.
The main reason why it is not encouraged to downgrade is due to the older versions not having the security fixes the newer releases have. http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/
The only secure versions at moment is Firefox 21.0 and the 17.0.6esr meant for for enterprise users.
Besides the author upgrade the Snap Links Plus extension for Firefox 21.0 and do you really need this extension that badly to potentially risk being vulnerable if you downgrade?

From the Snap Links Plus page:
"Not available for Firefox 21.0"
"2.3.2 Beta 15 does not work correctly. Please Update."
Didn't work for me either, I stated that in my first post.
I never mentioned the 2.3.2 beta version but rather the 2.3.2 release.
Did you not see the link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/SnapLinksPlus/versions/
Version 2.3.2 Released May 26, 2013 The maxversion in install.rdf file in extension is 21.*
How is is not working for you? that is if you actually installed 2.3.2 release and not only the 2.3.2 beta and 2.3.1 versions.
The extension author stated he released version 2.3.2 for Firefox 21.0 release at https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/snaplinksplus/k4E4a4Uyqew

Hi JMJimmy, the final release of 2.3.2 is now available on the "versions" page that James linked to:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/SnapLinksPlus/versions/
Because it has not yet been reviewed by the site admins, it is not yet available through the install button on the main page.
When I right-button select a few links, it opens them in new tabs, but this is a very basic test. Since you are familiar with how it is supposed to work, you might want to give it a try yourself.
I mentioned the versions link twice already jscher2000, but I suppose a third time will not hurt. The 2.3.2 release was on the page for a day now.

Hi James, I didn't anticipate your 8:12 post when I started reviewing this thread and testing it for myself. Time flies when you're restarting a dozen tabs. ;-)
I have 2.3.2 release installed currently - it doesn't work.
The support thread for Snap Links Plus is here. Posted as the "Support Site" on that add-on's AMO download page.
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/snaplinksplus
You can post there about your problem with the latest version of that extension. Going by the hyperlinked thread (which James posted above) it looks like Clint Priest, the developer of that add-on, responds to postings in that forum.
DOWNGRADiNG WITHOUT NEW INSTALLING AND KEEP ALL SETTINGS AND ADDONS of Firefox is easy:
just download version "21" (or the one you wish) from ftp pub mozilla: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/21.0/
.. use "7zip" to extract installer-package, just right-click the installer package and choose "extract to folder" ..
when finished, change to extracted folder in "..\Firefox Setup 21.0\core\" copy content of this folder (core) to your installation directory overwriting the files there .. thats it. no need to install all again. ;)

Locking this thread which was about the previous version version of Firefox.
People, you really need to look at the date of the postings and read what the "Owner" of the thread posts - he was complaining about Firefox 21 and was asking about downgrading to Firefox 20 - 5 weeks ago.
