Attempting to open e-mail attachments causes Openoffice to crash

I have reset Firefox to default settings, uninstalled and reloaded Openoffice. Openoffice then works ok until I attempt to open an e-mail attachment, which causes it to crash. It then does not respond to any commands, nor is anything visible.

Does it work correctly if, instead of choosing Open right away, you choose Save and then open from disk? (Assuming you get the Open/Save/Cancel dialog)

Is the problem with Yahoo! mail attachments?
