ow to extract my bookmarks from my profile ?

Firefox is completly kaput. I tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it, I backed up my bookmarks followed the instructiosn from your site several times to get it all back in order but to no avail. Now im not even bothering with it. I am using Chrome which i really like and i can move the bookmarks from firefox over to chrome with the option they gove me. only problem is it keeps stating that Firefox is still running when chrome wants to grab the bookmarks. I can not shut down Firefox. It is not runnig in the task manager at all, but still insists that it is running. (please before you say i can repair it...i have several times attempted. it refuses to work properly, and i am sick of trying im done with firefox.)

I still have my profile backed up, what i want to know is how can i get the HTML bookmark address from the profile with out having to load up either of the browsers?

I beieve it is called a .json file.

Sorry, I am not aware of an application that will convert a JSON backup file into a bookmarks.html file. Maybe someone else here will have an idea. My response here will serve to bump this thread back to the top of the forum (it's on page 21 right now).

Did you try to restore a JSON backup in Firefox? Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore > Choose File
