I've seen the other questions like this, and everyone seems to be downloading Nightly version 18 and getting it to work, but the link doesn't work anymore. I tried downloading 20 from a similar link and it doesn't work. I've also tried adding -metrodesktop to the end of the file location in the command prompt, and that opens what looks like the version I want, but it's still on the desktop. Does anyone know the current solution to this problem?

You can get the latest Firefox release here:

To make sure you have downloaded the correct version, if you are looking for the experimental builds where Windows 8 Metro development is taking place, you need the Elm nightly repository. You can download the latest version from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-elm/

As this is an experimental build there is no guarantee that it will work, and there will be bugs and missing features. For some more details see this blog post - https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2012/10/04/firefox-metro-preview/

There is also a thread at MozillaZine where the metro version is being discussed, and is good place to ask questions about the metro builds. - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2304983

Those are all links I've followed before. I install the program, but it just runs as a desktop program, and the start tile does not look like an app tile.

Use this startup command:

"C:\Program Files\Nightly\firefox.exe" -metrodesktop

The Metro version works best if you have 64-bit Windows and not 32-bit.
