How do I fix Secure Connection Failed when trying to connect to my network attached printer?
When I try to connect to the embedded web server in my network attached printer at https:\\192.168.0.3, I get the following error:
| Secure Connection Failed | | An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.0.3. | | You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email | correspondent and give them the following information: | | Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate | authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number. | | (Error code: sec_error_reused_issuer_and_serial) | | The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data | could not be verified. | | Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command | found in the help menu to report this broken site.
I have read many of the notes on this error, but have not been able to add a permanent exception to resolve the issue.

I was absolutely convinced that this would have no effect, but I poked the reset button on my router and when the network came back up I was able to add a permanent exception for the printer. Thanks!!! (I should mention that I deleted the certificate for the printer before I did that (tools/options/Advanced/Encryption/View Certificates))
your welcome man have a nice day and if you need anything more just ask
Thanks, Cor-el. I had read that article and followed those instructions to delete the original certificate, but was unable to add the exception after that...
Yes, adding an exception for specific certificate errors can be difficult, especially with reused serial numbers.
It should normally work if you remove the conflicting certificate.
