I use FF24 and the plugins.click_to_play=true option, also in Plugins settings i set all plugins (currently only flash) to Always Ask. When I visit a site with Flash, the logo-like icon appears in the Location bar. The problem is it is sometimes blue, sometimes light gray colored. I cannot see a pattern in its coloring in that which sites cause it to be blue, which - gray. It seems it is blue on more sites, than gray. This is confusing me a lot.

Can someone shed some light on this please?

hello tedych, the icon in the address bar will be:

  • grey, when there is a visible place to activate a plugin through click-to-play in the content of a webpage or once plugins are already activated
  • blue, if there are hidden plugin elements on the page that can only be activated through the icon in the address bar
  • red, when there are outdated/vulnerable plugins active on a page

Hi philipp, Thank you! This was very helpful, I wouldn't know it and I was wondering a lot.

This is ridiculous! You have just lost me. I will go to Internet Explorer instead, so I don't have to worry about having a vulnerable site due to issues with the browser!!!
